All Change at Autosportif: Specialist race and rally preparation Company Autosportif Limited announced today that after more than 20 years at the helm, Managing Director and Company founder, Martyn Spurrell is to retire. Martyn, who is a well known character on the motorsport scene, said “We have enjoyed competitive motorsport across the globe and have been fortunate to celebrate some significant successes - not least with my long time friend Roger Duckworth in his Subaru’s, and more recently in designing and building the Peking to Paris winning Chevrolets. However, the time has come to move to new pastures. Although Martyn is retiring, the Company will not be closing its doors as Engine and Transmission Department Manager, Howard Dent, has agreed to purchase the assets of the company and will trade from the same premises under the newly formed Company - Autosportif Engineering Limited. Howard has worked for Autosportif for 18 years and with his skill and expertise the Company has produced many competitive and successful engine and transmission units. “I am very much looking forward to the challenge of taking the new company forward and although this is a natural progression for me, I am highly aware of the Autosportif legacy and the foundations upon which I am building” commented Howard. Asked about the future, Martyn said “I am proud of what we have achieved at Autosportif and delighted at Howard’s decision, he has long been an important and integral part of the Company - I wish him every success. As for my own plans, I still intend to be a regular on the motorsport scene and will be using my knowledge to develop a Competition and Historic Car Brokerage and will also be available as a motorsport consultant”. Marianne Spurrell, who runs the administration and accounts department at Autosportif Ltd has also taken the opportunity to retire and will not be joining Autosportif Engineering Ltd.
